A wooden fetoscope, also known as a Pinard horn or Pinard stethoscope, is a simple, non-electronic device used to auscultate (listen to) fetal heart sounds during pregnancy. It's a hollow, horn-shaped instrument, typically made of wood, that acts as a sound amplifier. The wide end is placed against the pregnant woman's abdomen, and the user listens through the narrow end.
